Contech #12: Pandemic experiences, Trello, 5D BIM and Airthings
How do we collaborate when meetings move online, and how do we make building information more useful? In Contech #12, held online on 27 March 2020, Sindre Gundersen leads a review of Trello, 5D BIM and Airthings. The meeting also captures the transition during the early pandemic.
Shared tasks and reliable model quantities
Trello is demonstrated as a shared workspace with responsibilities, checklists and deadlines. Examples include weekly planning, defect follow-up and collecting lessons learned. The need for a shared origin and correct orientation is also raised before the modelling work.
In the estimating section, IFC models and quantities are connected to ISY Calcus. Checks in Solibri show that visible geometry does not always contain the necessary quantities. An export through Excel demonstrates a possible workaround, while the recommendation is to correct errors in the source model.
From sensor readings to operational follow-up
The Airthings section shows measurement curves and sensors placed on a floor plan. Temperature, air quality and usage patterns are discussed as a basis for operations. A diagram shows how sensors, maintenance and other data sources could connect to the model; the overall integration is a proposal.
The meeting closes with experiences of digital collaboration and an update from Mette Holand on Smart Molde. A water meter pilot and further collaboration are described as plans at the time of the meeting.
