Meeting recording
Contech #13: BIM meets IoT
A building model can be an entry point to much more than drawings. Contech #13, held on 24 April 2020, explores the connection between BIM and the Internet of Things, IoT, through presentations on sensor data, existing buildings, remote site visits and digital city models.
The right information for the right user
Håvard Brekke Bell from Catenda shows how models can connect to information from other systems. A tenant, caretaker and designer need different data and views. Shared identifiers, open interfaces and clear requirements are central to the discussion.
Sindre Gundersen from Angvik Utvikling and Tor Sporsem from SINTEF present a proposal to explore needs in existing buildings and test simple prototypes. The outline starts from data that already exists. At this point, further participation and development depend on funding.
Site visits and a city model in practice
Odd Inge Samuelsen from Samuelsen Maskin and Bjørnar Gundersen from Consto demonstrate a 360-degree tour through meeting rooms and offices. Participants can talk to each other and rotate the view. The test also shows how the internet connection affects the experience. Construction site use is discussed as a next step.
Mette Jane Holand from Molde municipality and Bjørn Dimmen from Offshore Simulator Centre present Smart Molde and Augment City. A city model of Molde provides a starting point for questions about mobility, planning and data sharing. The recording shows trials and possibilities; further integrations and the effects of proposed measures remain to be established.
