Contech #15: Digital value chains and reality capture

The recording is in its original language; this article is an English translation.

How can product information follow a building throughout its life, and how do we create a good digital foundation for existing buildings? Contech #15 connects standardised data with practical examples of 3D scanning, also known as reality capture. The presentations are from 26 June 2020.

Product data that more people can use

Lars Christian Fredenlund from coBuilder explains how shared property definitions and data templates can connect products to models and workflows. A window illustrates how environmental calculations, purchasing, operations and daylight simulation need different information. The data must have an unambiguous meaning and fit the task.

From scanning to modelling and deviation checks

Kjetil Greiner Sæter from Angvik Prosjektering shows photographic surveys, point clouds and comparisons with existing drawings. The film makes clear the difference between capturing a building and processing that capture into BIM. Shared coordinates and a clear purpose are important prerequisites.

A borrowed Imerso demonstration shows how a misplaced column can be linked to an issue. Later, point clouds and modelling material from Angvik are shown. The examples illustrate different uses, but the supplier demonstration is not a documented deviation from Angvik Prosjektering's own project.

The recording ends after the discussion of scanning and product information. The Smart Molde and education collaboration presentations listed on the agenda are not included in this film.
