Demonstration
From old drawings to an integrated building operations platform
Old floor plans can be the starting point for a digital foundation for building operations. This short, silent demonstration shows a workflow from paper drawings and a digital survey to a point cloud, a model and colour-coded area zones.
From capture to rooms and zones
A point cloud is processed in Autodesk ReCap before the film moves on to modelling in Revit. We see how floors and zones can be structured so that information can be linked to specific parts of the building.
The final diagram shows how unique identifiers can link zones to fire detectors, electricity meters and other sensors. Power BI and mobile applications illustrate possible interfaces for management, operation, maintenance and development, abbreviated FDVU in Norwegian.
The film shows the visual steps and a proposed relationship between systems. It suits anyone wanting to understand how existing building documentation can become more useful; not all integrations in the final diagram are demonstrated in operation.
