How can management help crews succeed? Jason Schroeder from Elevate Construction explains how respect for people, stable working conditions and fewer obstacles can improve construction site flow. His presentation is followed by a conversation with Norwegian industry representatives.

Plan the connections between trades

On the whiteboard, Schroeder shows how handovers, waiting and many simultaneous tasks affect work. He recommends limiting work in progress, planning flow between zones and trades, and ensuring materials arrive when needed.

Recorded excerpts with Niklas Modig explore the difference between high utilisation of individual resources and good flow through the whole process. Patient pathways and football provide teaching analogies.

Turn principles into daily practice

The panel discussion addresses training, involving those doing the work and everyday follow-up. The programme introduces Bjørn Ungersness, Rune Stenberg, Johnny Skår and Bjørnar Gundersen, with Sindre Gundersen as moderator.

Towards the end, Schroeder shows how he organises his own work: prioritising important and urgent tasks, recurring leadership tasks and reserving time in the weekly calendar. The film suits leaders and project staff who want to understand both production flow and the habits that support it. Further training and a boot camp are discussed as plans in this recording from 2021.
